We are looking for a Tutor to join our dedicated team in our Widnes Centre.
Job Description
– Prepare course/training materials
– Complete external paperwork as required in a timely manner
– Maintain the quality of the learner programme to a sufficient standard to pass IQA and EQA criteria
– Complete learner and delivery paperwork as required in a timely manner
– Teach wellbeing awareness
– To attend business networking events to promote the activities of SWRAC
– To support learners with LDD/SEND in a variety of classroom settings
– To work closely with team members to ensure that ILP targets are monitored and reviewed
– To be aware of individual learner’s risk assessments and needs
– Encourage independence and self-help skills wherever possible
Person Specification
Qualifications:
Essential:
– Recognised teaching qualification
– Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent/ GCSE level 4)
– Experience of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
– Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Desirable:
– Behaviour qualifications
– SEND qualifications
Skills / Competencies
– Good communication and calculation skills
– Effective team player
– Excellent interpersonal skill
– Good organisational skills
– Ability to supervise students effectively both in college and out of the centre in line with the behaviour policy
– Ability to manage challenging situations and a demanding working environment
– Be competent at IT
– Ability to work in partnership with parents/carers and teachers
– Ability to use own initiative and work flexibility
– Ability to support learners with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
– Innovative thinker with ability to adapt teaching and support strategies.

Knowledge
– Ability to relate well to vulnerable young adults
– Understanding of behaviour management strategies
– Understanding of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties

Salary: £28,000 to £31,000 per year
