Continuing Competence
Continuing Competence is a new requirement introduced by Environmental Permitting Regulations to ensure individuals maintain their competence over time. CIWM / WAMITAB have developed a “Continuing Competence Scheme’” which enables holders of COTCs and, in future, holders of new competence qualifications to demonstrate their on-going competence under the DEFRA approved CIWM/WAMITAB Scheme.
The assessment / test will contain multiple choice questions and comprise a ‘generic’ element, applicable to all sites, and an element which contains ‘site/activity specific’ questions.
SWRAC provides regular courses to update your knowledge and understanding of relevant changes which affect your activities, ensure compliance with permits and prepare you for the test.
